Panhandle Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, LLP was initially formed in 1990 when Dr. Michael Guttenplan arrived in Amarillo to join Dr. Geoffrey Wright in the practice of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. While this was the official beginning of the Panhandle Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, LLP, the practice had its initial roots when Dr. Norman Wright had completed his residency in the specialty at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas following seven years of general practice in Dumas Texas.

Dr. Geoffrey Wright joined his father in practice in Amarillo at 1600 Coulter in 1986, following completion of his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas. This formed the first group practice for the practice of otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) in Amarillo at that time. Prior to this time, it had been essentially all solo-practitioners in the Amarillo area.

With Dr. Norman Wright's retirement in 1990, Dr. Michael Guttenplan joined the practice following his completion of his residency at the University of Pennsylvania. As the practice grew, the office moved to MD Physicians Medical Building at 3501 Soncy. This building had originally been built in the mid 1980's for a retail mall.

Dr. Martin Schneider joined Panhandle Ear, Nose and Throat Associates in 1997. Dr. Schneider had originally begun his solo private practice in Amarillo in 1978 following completion of his residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas Texas. He had dedicated a full year of sub-specialty training while doing a fellowship in otology or ear surgery with Dr. Jack Hough in Oklahoma City from 1992 to 1993. With his arrival, Panhandle Ear, Nose and Throat Associates has been able to provide a full range of treatment in dealing with specialized surgery of the ear.

In the summer of 2001, Dr. Stacie Morgan joined the physicians of Panhandle Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, after completion of her specialty training at the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio Texas. With her arrival, Panhandle Ear, Nose and Throat Associates will have a full complement of physicians in the largest group practice for the specialty of otolaryngology in Amarillo.

All disorders in the specialty including diseases affecting the head and neck region in pediatric to the elderly patients including problems with rhinology, allergic disorders, head and neck cancer, medical and surgical procedures for disorders of the ear and other associated problems in the head and neck region can be dealt with through the office of Panhandle Ear, Nose and Throat Associates.
