Michael D. Guttenplan, M.D.

Michael Guttenpan MD
I was born and raised in suburban New York City in Valley Stream, Long Island. I attended High School at Valley Stream Central High School and College at the University of Pennsylvania with a major in natural sciences.

My medical internship and residency were completed at the University of Pennsylvania with my residency being in otolaryngology head and neck surgery. During residency, I met my wife, Mary J. Townsend, M.D. Mary's family is from Canyon, Texas where she was raised.

Following the completion of her residencies, we decided to relocate to the Texas Panhandle and I have been in practice in otolaryngology with Panhandle Ear, Nose and Throat, L.L.P. since 1990.

I have two children. I enjoy living in the Panhandle, my past time and hobbies include tennis, running, skiing and cooking. I look forward to the opportunity to meet patients and assist in their care.
